What can't a plastic measuring cylinder weigh
Apr 23, 2022
Generally, plastic measuring cylinders are not recommended to weigh organic solvents.
In short, the commonly used benzene, toluene, xylene, acetone, ethanol and so on are not suitable for weighing with plastic measuring cylinders.
The main reason is that these organic solvents usually dissolve plastics or swell. The result is that the measuring barrel itself will deform to a certain extent. In this way, the plastic measuring cylinder will be damaged, or the measurement of the plastic measuring cylinder will be inaccurate.
Therefore, no matter from the two aspects of protecting the test instrument or making the measurement results accurate, it is not suitable to measure the organic solvent with a plastic measuring cylinder.
General organic solvents can be measured with a glass measuring cylinder.
