Buchner Funnel
The Buchner funnel is a ceramic instrument used in the laboratory, also made of plastic, used for filtration by vacuum or negative pressure suction. It is generally believed that the inventor was Edward Bichner, a Nobel laureate in chemistry in 1907. In fact, the Buchner funnel was invented by chemist Ernst B ü chner.
Description
The shape is a flat cylindrical shape, with many small holes on the bottom of the cylinder. Next is a narrow cylindrical outlet.
When using, filter paper is usually placed on the bottom of the cylinder first, and the funnel is inserted into the opening above the Brinell flask and the interface is sealed (such as with a rubber ring). The side opening of the Buchner beaker is connected to the suction system. Then pour the solid and liquid mixture to be separated above, and the liquid components are drawn into the beaker under negative pressure, leaving the solid above.
