Precautions for use of microscope

1. The delivery method shall be correct. Because the reflectors are inserted under the mirror arm through the mirror handle and the eyepieces are inserted at the upper end of the lens barrel, they are easy to slip and damage. When taking and delivering the microscope, be sure to hold the mirror arm with your right hand and hold the mirror base with your left hand. Under no circumstances is it allowed to hold the microscope in one hand. In addition, students are not allowed to take down the reflector and eyepiece and touch them indiscriminately.

2. Lens protection. The eyepiece and objective lens are usually placed in a special box in the microscope box. During the experimental class, in order to prevent dust, special plastic bags or cloth bags should be made and covered at any time during the recess. If the lens is dirty, it can only be wiped with a special lens wiping paper. When wiping, it should be wiped in one direction. If you can't wipe clean, you'd better dip a little xylene and continue to wipe. Note that never immerse the lens in xylene, which will cause the lens to open and fall off.

3. Use of coarse and fine focusing screws and prevent the lens barrel from sliding. Generally speaking, the coarse and fine focusing screws can move the lens barrel by 10 mm and 0.1 mm respectively. When you want to lower the lens barrel, you must look directly at the objective lens with your eyes to make the lens barrel lower slowly. Otherwise, it is easy to smash the objective lens and slide specimen.

If the microscope is used for a long time, the lens barrel is easy to slide. If the situation is not too serious, the teacher can carry out the following simple maintenance: there are two screws controlling the tightness of the lens barrel at the upper end of the old microscope arm. As long as the screw is turned clockwise, the lens barrel will be tightened; For the domestic new microscope, the tightness of the lens barrel is adjusted by two coarse quasi focal screws. Hold the left coarse focus screw with your left hand, tighten the coarse focus screw clockwise with your right hand, and the lens barrel will be tightened. If the situation is serious, send it to the repair department for maintenance in time.

4. Use of converter. When turning the converter, do not pull the objective lens with your fingers. For a long time, it is easy to loosen the objective lens, change the focal length and affect the clarity of observation. The correct method is to hold the edge of the converter with your fingers and rotate it.

5. Make the indicator pin on the eyepiece. When demonstrating or investigating the observation effect of students, it is best to use an eyepiece with an indicator needle. The simple way is: gently open the eyepiece, glue one end of a short hair to the inner edge of the eyepiece with glue, and point the other end near the center of the eyepiece. When observing, gently rotate the eyepiece, and the indicator needle can point out different parts in the field of vision.
