Description

Volumetric Flasks Brown 1000ml

Guide Medlab 1000ml brown volumetric flasks are precision-grade amber glass vessels made of high-quality 3.3 borosilicate glass. Specially designed for large-batch preparation and accurate quantitative dilution of light-sensitive reagents, these flasks effectively prevent photodegradation by blocking ultraviolet light and protecting photolabile samples.
Featuring a slim long neck, the flask minimizes meniscus deviation and ensures highly accurate volume readings. The clear engraved graduation mark delivers stable and reliable nominal capacity calibration at 20°C. Its round-body structure allows thorough shaking and uniform mixing for large-volume solution systems.
Available with ground glass stoppers or plastic stoppers for flexible experimental matching, these amber flasks possess excellent chemical corrosion resistance. They are widely used for large-volume light-sensitive quantitative analysis in chemical laboratories, pharmaceutical quality control, environmental testing and university teaching facilities.

How to Use 1000ml Brown Glass Volumetric Flask

Pre-dissolve the measured solute in a beaker first, then transfer the fully dissolved solution into the 1000ml brown volumetric flask.

Add distilled water to about half of the flask volume and shake thoroughly to achieve preliminary homogenization.

Continue adding solvent until the liquid level approaches the engraved calibration mark.

Adjust the temperature of the flask and solution to 20°C before final volume adjustment to ensure calibration accuracy.

Add solvent dropwise until the bottom of the liquid meniscus precisely aligns with the graduation line. Always observe the meniscus at horizontal eye level. Prevent liquid from splashing onto the inner wall above the calibration mark to avoid volume errors.

Seal with the matched stopper and invert repeatedly for full solution mixing.

Cleaning & Maintenance Method of 1000ml Brown Volumetric Flask

Clean the 1000ml brown volumetric flask thoroughly with distilled water before and after each use to remove residual contaminants and ensure accurate measurement.

For daily solution preparation, always dissolve solid solutes completely in a beaker in advance. If the dissolution process produces heat, cool the solution to room temperature before transferring it into the volumetric flask. Never add solid substances directly into the flask for dissolution, as incomplete solute mixing will cause inaccurate constant-volume results.

Strictly avoid open-flame heating and oven drying. Repeated high-temperature exposure will permanently deform the glass and change the calibrated volume, irreversibly damaging the flask's precision.

This volumetric flask is dedicated to precise solution preparation only. Do not store strong alkaline solutions inside for a long time, since alkaline corrosion will scratch the glass inner wall and affect experimental accuracy. Always rinse the flask thoroughly with distilled water immediately after use and store it in a dry environment.

Precautions for Use

1. Volumetric flasks are not heat-resistant and cannot be heated. Avoid holding the flask body for a long time with your hands to prevent temperature interference. All hot solutions must be cooled to room temperature before transfer, otherwise thermal expansion will cause permanent volume deviation and inaccurate test data.

2. Never dissolve solid solutes directly inside the volumetric flask. Dissolve all substances completely in a beaker first, and transfer the homogeneous solution into the flask for constant-volume preparation.

3. The total volume of beaker rinsing solvent must not exceed the flask graduation mark. If the liquid level goes beyond the calibrated line, the solution must be discarded and re-prepared.

4. Volumetric flasks provide fixed, precise volume with four significant figures. Do not estimate or approximate the volume if the liquid level fails to align with the scale. Accurate constant-volume operation is required, and failed solutions need reconfiguration.

5. Clean the flask immediately after use and seal it with the matched stopper. Place a thin paper strip between the stopper and bottle mouth to prevent adhesion and sticking during long-term storage.

6. This glassware is designed only for solution preparation, not for long-term sample storage. Storing strong alkaline solutions will corrode the glass inner wall and cause the stopper to jam, affecting future use and measurement accuracy.

7. Select the appropriate flask specification according to experimental requirements. Brown volumetric flasks are specially required for preparing light-sensitive and photodegradable solutions to avoid sample deterioration caused by ultraviolet exposure.
